Cornu, Jean (French sculptor, 1650-1710)
|
Note: Cornu began his career studing ivory carving in Dieppe, which influenced his later work in stone. He took second prize for sculpture at the Academy in Paris in 1673. He studied in Rome, returning to Paris in 1681; he was admitted to the Academy that same year. He worked on royal building projects at Versailles and Clagny. |
