Gross, František (Czech painter and printmaker, 1909-1985)
|
Note: Gross had a traditional education at the Technical University and School of Decorative Arts in Prague. His first exhibition was with the sculptor Ladislav Zívr in Nová Paka. With the photographer Miroslav Hák and the painter František Hudeček, he formed the first informal group of Czech surrealists. He experimented with collage, decalcomania, and assemblage. Images of machines metamorphosed to form grotesque figures appeared in his work. |
