Marinus (Near Eastern philosopher, writer, and biographer, ca. 450-ca. 500)
|
Note: Marinus was born in Sichem (Neapolis) in Samaria. He became a pupil of Proclus(ca. 410-485), the last major Greek philosopher. In 485, Marinus succeeded Proclus as head of the Academy in Athens. He also wrote a biography, "The life of Proclus, or Concerning happiness." |
