Bauman, Ivan Iossifovich (Russian cabinetmaker, active ca. 1815 - ca. 1835)
|
Note: Bauman was one of the most well known Russian cabinetmakers in the first quarter of the 19th century. He worked closely with the architect Carlo Rossi, and produced furniture after his designs for various rooms at Pavlosk, Anichkov Palace, Yelagin Palace, and the Mikhailovsky Palace, St. Petersburg. In 1823 he was appointed as supplier to the court of furniture and bronzes, and he owned a furniture shop in the district of the admiralty in St. Petersburg (1824). |
