Bemis, Samuel (American daguerreotypist, 1789-1881)
|
Note: Bemis, a dentist and a jeweler, was one of the first amateur daguerreotypists in America. He learned the process and bought equipment from François Gouraud in 1840. Bemis made daguerreotype views of Boston, Massachusetts in 1840-1841, and also photographed at Crawford's Notch, New Hampshire in 1840. |
