Burn, William (Scottish architect, 1789-1870)
|
Note: After studying in Robert Smirke's office, Burn established himself as an architect in Edinburgh. He became well known for designing country houses for the Scottish nobility. Burn also received English commissions, and in 1844 he set up an office at 6 Stratton Street, London, leaving the Edinburgh office in the hands of his partner, David Bryce. Scottish architect, son of Robert Burn (1752-1815). |
