Note: Town on or near the site of an ancient battle. Known from literary sources as the site of a battle in the summer of 425 BCE, when an Athenian force led by Nikias sailed to the western end of the Saronic Gulf. It landed in Corinthian territory near the village of Solygea, where they engaged the Corinthians in a pitched battle.
