Note: Located on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, Zamárdi contained one of the richest burial grounds in the Carpathian Basin. Proof exists that the area around Zamárdi was inhabited in the Copper, Bronze and Iron Ages, as well as evidence of Celtic and Ancient Roman origin.
