Note: This is a federally-recognized reservation stewarded by the Duckwater Shoshone Tribe. The reservation spans approximately 3,814 acres in Nye County, Nevada, all of which is tribally owned. It is primarily comprised of lands acquired by the United States Government formally known as the Florio Ranch. The reservation was first established by the Secretary of the Interior on November 13, 1940 by the authority of the Indian Reorganization Act. The original reservation land base of 3,273 acres was further increased to its current acreage by subsequent Acts dated June 28, 1941, December 22, 1943, and January 27, 1955. |
