Note: This is a federally-recognized reservation stewarded by the Cloverdale Rancheria of Pomo Indians. The Rancheria was established in 1921 after the U.S. government deeded 27.5 acres of land near Cloverdale, California to the members of the Pomo people. Though federal recognition of the Rancheria was terminated and all tribal lands were lost as result of the Rancheria Act of 1958, it was later reinstated in 1983 after the Till Hardwick case. In 1994, Tribal landowners were again forced to sell their land to Cal-Trans to make way for Highway 101, which runs through Rancheria lands today.
