Note: This is an Oklahoma Tribal Statistical Area (OTSA) with tribal jurisdiction shared by the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. The OTSA spans over 81,000 total acres of land, over 10,000 acres of which is trust land and 70,759 acres of which are allotments owned by tribal members. The lands were originally designated as the Cheyenne-Arapaho Reservation by the Medicine Lodge Treaty of 1867 and a subsequent Presidential Proclamation in 1869. Under the Jermone Agreement of 1890, these lands were alloted to the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. |
