Note: Was massive, terraced village in the Late Archaic (1500 BCE-300 CE) era, located on a hill, now on Rio Casas Grandes. It contains artificial, semicircular rock-lined earthen terraces called trincheras; noted as earliest agricultural site of this scale in region, developed long before introduction of maize & squash; crops apparently included amaranth ("pig weed").
