Note: This is a federally-recognized reservation stewarded by the Lone Pine Paiute Shoshone Tribe. The reservation spans 237.4 acres in the southern portion of the Owens Valley between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Inyo Mountain Ranges. Specifically, the reservation lies approximately 200 miles north of Los Angeles in Inyo County, California. It was first established on April 20, 1937 through a land exchange between the Department of the Interior and the City of Los Angeles. |
