Note: Located in the valley of the Sor Brook in Oxfordshire, about 2 miles northwest of Banbury. Was the site of a Roman settlement; then Saxon. In 1086 Drayton had a water mill on Sor Brook near the village. A mill is also later recorded 1589-1851. The parish church of Saint Peter was in existence by 1223. There is another town called Drayton, also with a church of St. Peter, in Oxfordshire.
