Note: Greek coastal city of ancient Cilicia Campestris; Soloi was one of the ten city-kingdoms into which Cyprus was divided at the time. Was ravaged in mid-70s BCE by Tigranes of Armenia; remained almost deserted until 67 BCE, when Pompey settled it with ex-pirates and it was named Pompeiopolis in his honor; succumbed to Arabs in the 7th century CE.
