Note: Kingdom founded in the 17th century by a migration of Sakalava from the southern tip of Madagascar; located between the Mangoky and Manambalo rivers. Together with the kingdom of Boina, Menabé controlled most of the western Madagascar in the 18th century. In the 19th century, Menabé was absorbed by the Merina empire.
