Note: Soria is situated on the west bank of the Duero River. Alfonso I, the Warrior of Aragon restored the town after invasion by Moors and was later passed on to Alfonso VII of Castile. The Museo Numantino contains significant Iberian and Roman objects from ruins of nearby Numantia. Romanesque historical sites include the churches of Santo Domingo and San Nicolás, the colegiata (collegiate church) de San Pedro, and the closter of the Convent of San Juan de Duero.
