Note: Located 19.2 km northwest of Bath, near the mouth of the tidal river Avon; a small harbor is made here by the confluence of the river Trym. Military artifacts that have been found indicate that there was a Roman fort here shortly after the invasion of 43 CE. A civilian settlement also developed.
