Note: Wood of any of several varieties of the species Fraxinus excelsior. The wood is whitish to pale brown in color with a pink cast. It is a dense wood that is tough and elastic with a straight grain and slightly coarse texture. It is moderately durable but susceptible to insect attack. The timber is used for ladders, tool handles, oars, poles, wheels, boats, weapons, furniture, gymnasium equipment, tennis racquets, and hockey sticks.

| Dutch ..... Hout van een van de verschillende variëteiten van de soort Fraxinus excelsior. Het hout is witachtig tot lichtbruin van kleur met een roze vlam. Het is een compact, taai en elastisch hout met een rechte nerf en licht grove textuur. Het is matig duurzaam maar gevoelig voor aantasting door insecten. Het hout wordt gebruikt voor ladders, gereedschapsstelen, riemen, stokken, wielen, boten, wapens, meubilair, gym-apparatuur, tennisrackets en hockeysticks. |
| Spanish ..... Madera del árbol perteneciente a la especie Fraxinus excelsior, nativa de las Islas Británicas, norte de Africa y Asia occidental. De color blancuzco a marrón pálido con un tinte rosado, es utilizada para hacer muebles y sillas, chapas y equipo deportivo. |
