Note: A breccia marble that consists of large pebbles of black, green, pink, red, gray, purple and bronze; it is noted for its strongly pronounced colors. It is from the Greek island of Chios and so has nothing to do with Africa; its name is due to its dusky coloration.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Een brecciëmarmer dat bestaat uit grote zwarte, groene, roze, rode, grijze, paarse en bronskleurige kiezelstenen. Deze marmersoort is bekend om zijn sterk geprononceerde kleuren. Het marmer is afkomstig van het Griekse eiland Chios en heeft dus niets te maken met Afrika. De naam is gebaseerd op de donkere kleurtekening van het marmer. 
Spanish ..... Mármol breccia consistente en grandes guijarros de color negro, verde, rosado, rojo, gris, púrpura y bronce, que se distingue por sus colores fuertemente marcados. Proviene de la isla griega de Quíos y no guarda por lo tanto relación con África; su nombre se debe a su color oscuro.
