Note: Cannons first manufactured at the Carron Iron Company at Falkirk, Scotland, around 1778 and continuing in use until the late 19th century. They were short and light in relation to their bore, had no trunnions, and were used mainly on ships for firing broadsides at short range. |

Dutch ..... Kanonnen die rond 1778 voor het eerst werden vervaardigd door de Carron Iron Company in Falkirk, Schotland, en die werden gebruikt tot aan het einde van de 19e eeuw. Het waren korte, lichte kanonnen in verhouding tot hun kaliber, ze hadden geen taatsen en ze werden voornamelijk gebruikt op schepen om van dichtbij boordsalvo's af te vuren. |
Spanish ..... Cañones manufacturados por primera vez por la compañía Carron Iron de Falkirk, Escocia, alrededor de 1778 y que continuaron en uso hasta las postrimerías del siglo XIX. Eran cortos y ligeros en relación a su calibre, no tenían eje de apoyo, y se usaron principalmente en barcos para disparar andanadas a corta distancia. |
