Note: Nahua tlahuiztli (insignia) in the form of large umbrella-shaped feathered structures worn on a back-frame. These were prestigious gifts presented to nobles made in a variety of colors, and was frequently topped with an effigy head of the deity Xolotl; hence its name, "Xolotl-head." This insignia also represents the altepetl of Tepeticpac, Tlaxcala. |

Spanish ..... Nahua tlahuiztli (insignia) en forma de una gran estructura de plumas con un aspecto de sombrilla que se llevaba en un marco trasero. En el México central posclásico, era un prestigioso regalo presentado a los nobles, hecho en una variedad de colores y era frecuentemente coronado con una cabeza efigie de la deidad Xolotl; de ahí su nombre, "Cabeza de Xolotl". Esta insignia también representa al altepetl del Tepeticpac, Tlaxcala. |
