Note: Eastern Orthodox ecclesiastical stoles, in which the two ends are sewn together and hang straight down in front to the knees or to the floor, with an opening remaining at the top through which the head is passed. The front may also be made of a solid piece of fabric rather than two separate pieces. The sticharion and epitrachelion are held together by the zone (girdle), a narrow belt of stuff with clasps. It differs from the Western church stole in that it hangs straight instead of being crossed over the chest.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Oosters-orthodoxe religieuze stola waarvan de twee uiteinden aan elkaar zijn vastgenaaid en recht naar beneden hangen, tot op de knieën of tot de grond, met een opening aan de bovenkant voor het hoofd. De voorkant kan ook van één stuk stof zijn gemaakt in plaats van twee aparte stukken. De sticharion en epitrachelion worden bijeengehouden door de zone (gordel), een smalle riem van wollen stof met gespen. Het verschil met stola's uit de westerse kerk is erin gelegen dat het epitrachelion recht hangt en niet gekruist over de borst. 
German ..... Stola der östlich orthodoxen Kirche, bei der zwei Enden aneinander genäht wurden und die auf der Vorderseite bis zu den Knien oder dem Boden gerade herunterhängt, mit einer Aussparung oben durch die der Kopf durchgeführt wird. Die Vorderseite kann auch mit einem zusammenhängenden Stück Stoff eher als aus zwei separaten Stoffteilen hergestellt sein. Das Sticharion und das Epitrachelion werden durch eine Zone (Gürtel), einem schmalen Gürtel aus einem Material mit Schnallen zusammengehalten. Es unterscheidet sich von einer Stola der Westkirche dadurch, dass es gerade herabhängt statt dass es über der Brust gekreuzt wird.
