Dutch ..... Lange kleding voor vrouwen, meestal met vloeiende belijning uitgesneden. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn damesjurken gedragen vanaf de Middeleeuwen, en de meer formele jurken van de moderne tijd. Gebruik "gewaden" voor lange, losse kledingstukken die meestal uit één stuk bestaan en aan de voorkant opengaan, dit is niet per se damesmode. |
Spanish ..... Úsese para designar un vestido femenino, originariamente semiajustado y no abierto por la parte inferior delantera; generalmente largo, cortado con vuelo, y de una pieza. Se llevaba en la Edad Media. También, término utilizado hasta el siglo XX para describir numerosas formas variantes de vestidos, no todas de una pieza o cerradas. Desde finales de la década de 1920 en adelante, el término se utilizó para designar vestidos para ocasiones formales y especiales, con un cuerpo ajustado o semiasjustado, con o sin mangas, y con una falda larga y con vuelo. Prefiera "toga” para las prendas largas, sueltas, que tienden a ser de una pieza y abiertas por la parte inferior delatera, cortada con vuelo y que llevan los hombres y la mujeres como vestuario ordinario, o en ocasiones ceremoniales u oficiales, o como un símbolo de profesión u oficio. |
