Note: Folded books developed in China and Japan, in which individual folded sheets are gathered into a text block with the folds at the back. Adhesive is applied between the sheets along the outside of the folds to attach adjacent sheets to each other; the cover is adhered to the first and last leaves but not to the spine. When the book is opened, each pair of adhered pages stands out at an angle like the wings of a butterfly, with two pages of text alternating with two blank pages.

| Dutch ..... Te gebruiken voor in China en Japan ontwikkelde leporelloboeken, waarin losse gevouwen vellen tot een boekblok worden verzameld met de vouwen aan de achterzijde. Naast elkaar gelegen vellen worden aan de buitenzijde van de vouwen door middel van lijm aan elkaar vastgemaakt; de kaft wordt aan het eerste en laatste blad gelijmd maar niet aan de rug. Wanneer het boek wordt geopend staan de per paar aan elkaar gehechte pagina’s uit als de vleugels van een vlinder, waarbij twee pagina’s tekst worden afgewisseld door twee blanco pagina’s. |
| Spanish ..... Úsese para libros plegados desarrollados en China y Japon, en los cuales hojas dobladas individuales se juntan en un bloque de texto con los pliegues al dorso. Se aplica pegamento entre las hojas a lo largo de la parte externa de los pliegues a fin de unir las hojas adyacentes; la cubierta se pega a la primera y última hoja pero no al lomo. Cuando el libro se abre, cada par de páginas adheridas sobresale en ángulo como las alas de una mariposa, con dos páginas de texto alternando con dos páginas. |
