Note: Clasps, often richly ornamented, used for various purposes. They are often in the form of a hook sewn to one side of a garment or armor, to be attached to a loop or ring sewn on the other side. Also, an agrafe may be a pin or badge worn -- often on a hat -- in recognition of a pilgrimage to a sacred site.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Sluithaakjes, vaak rijkelijk versierd, in de vorm van een haak vastgenaaid aan de ene kant van een kledingstuk of wapenuitrusting, die kan worden vastgemaakt aan een lus of ring die is vastgenaaid aan de andere kant. 
German ..... Spange, oft reich verziert, die für verschiedene Zwecke verwendet wird. Sie ist häufig in Form eines Hakens an eine Seite eines Kleidungsstückes oder Harnisches genäht, um an eine Schlaufe oder einen Ring befestigt zu werden, die oder der auf die andere Seite genäht ist. Ferner kann eine Agraffe als Nadel oder Abzeichen getragen werden - oft an einem Hut - in Anerkennung einer Wallfahrt zu einem heiligen Ort. 
Spanish ..... Broches, frecuentemente ricamente ornamentados, con forma de un gancho cosidos por un lado a una prenda de vestir o armadura, para ser sujeto a un lazo o argolla cosido en el otro lado.
