Note: Use generally for various types of light portable firearms used in Europe from the 14th to the early 17th century, fitted with a stock which allowed them to be held against the cheek, chest, or shoulder. The first models had a hooklike projection on the underside of the barrel to absorb recoil, and were rested upon a surface when fired.

Dutch ..... Wordt algemeen gebruikt voor verschillende soorten lichte draagbare vuurwapens die in Europa werden gebruikt vanaf de 14e tot aan het begin van de 17e eeuw en die waren voorzien van een geweerlade waarmee ze tegen de wang, borst of schouder konden worden gehouden. De eerste modellen hadden een haakvormig uitsteeksel aan de onderkant van de loop om de terugslag op te vangen en werden bij het afvuren ergens op geplaatst. 
Spanish ..... Úsese generalmente para diferentes tipos de armas de fuego ligeras y portátiles usadas en Europa desde el siglo XIV hasta principios del siglo XVII, provistas de una culata que permitía apoyarlas contra la mejilla, el pecho o el hombro. Los primeros modelos tenían un reborde en forma de gancho en la parte inferior del cañón para frenar el retroceso, y se apoyaban sobre una superficie cuando se disparaban.
