pile fabric looms (looms (textile tools), <textile fabricating tools and equipment>, ... Furnishings and Equipment (hierarchy name))

Note: Specialized looms designed to facilitate the weaving of pile or plush fabrics, such as velvet, terry towel, chenille, and pile carpets, which have tufts or loops of fibres that stand up from the base fabric. These looms consist of a Jacquard-type power loom with an attachment that introduces wires at intervals to create false wefts around which warps are bound. The threads of each warp are thus lifted at different times so that they pass over the wires to form a row of standing loops.
