Dutch ..... Volgens de botanische definitie vlezige vruchten die zijn ontstaan uit een enkelzadig vruchtbeginsel (soms meerzadig), met een harde steenachtige laag of endocarpium rondom het zaad. Ze worden meestal gekenmerkt door een schil aan de buitenkant, een dikke, vlezige middelste laag en een harde, steenachtige pit.
