Note: Prints in which powdered sulphur is used to give tone to a plate coated with a layer of oil. Sulphur prints are similar to aquatints and feature extremely fine, delicate tones or tints. Many sulphur prints date to the 17th and 18th centuries. |

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar afdrukken waarvoor zwavelpoeder is gebruikt voor het tinten van een plaat die is bedekt met een laag olie. Zwaveldrukken zijn vergelijkbaar met aquatinten en bevatten uitermate verfijnde tinten. Veel zwaveldrukken stammen uit de 17de en 18de eeuw. |
Spanish ..... Se refiere a grabados en los cuales se espolvorea azufre para dar tono a la plancha cubierta con una capa de aceite. Los grabados al azufre son similares a las aguatintas y tienen como características tonos o tintes extremadamente finas y delicados. Muchos grabados al azufre datan del siglo XVII y XVIII. |
