Note: Consecrated, relatively small stiffened squares of linen used to cover the top of the chalice. The purpose of the pall is to keep dust and insects from falling into the Eucharistic elements. For larger, softer coverings over both chalice and paten in transportation, use "chalice veils."

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Vierkante kartons overtrokken met linnen of vierkante stijve linnen doeken ter bedekking van de kelk tijdens de mis. Gebruik 'kelkvela' voor grotere doeken die vóór en na de communie over kelk en pateen worden gelegd.
