Note: Refers to the period in Egypt from about 304 to 30 BCE named after the first ruler of the Dynasty, Ptolemy I, who inherited Egypt in the division of Alexander the Great's empire. The period is characterized by the merging of strong Greek influences with traditional Egyptian modes of expression especially in architecture, and changes in pictorial conventions such as the representation of the human figure in statuary and relief sculpture.

| Arabic ..... يشير إلى الفترة التي شهدتها مصر من حوالي 304 إلى 30 قبل الميلاد والتي سميت على اسم الحاكم الأول للأسرة بطليموس الأول، الذي ورث مصر في تقسيم إمبراطورية الإسكندر الأكبر. تتميز هذه الفترة بدمج التأثيرات اليونانية القوية مع أساليب التعبير المصرية التقليدية خاصة في الهندسة المعمارية، والتغيرات في التقاليد التصويرية مثل تمثيل الشكل البشري في التماثيل والنحت البارز. |

Chr., genoemd naar de eerste heerser van de dynastie, Ptolemeus I, aan wie Egypte ten deel viel bij de verdeling van het rijk van Alexander de Grote. De periode kenmerkt zich door het samenvloeien van sterke Griekse invloeden met traditionele Egyptische uitingsvormen, met name in de architectuur, en door veranderingen in de conventies van de beeldende kunst, zoals de afbeelding van de menselijke figuur in de beeldhouwkunst en reliëfsculptuur. |

Se refiere al período en Egipto desde aproximadamente el 304 al 30 a.C. que lleva el nombre del primer gobernante de la Dinastía, Ptolomeo I, quien heredó Egipto en la división del imperio de Alejandro el Grande. El período se caracteriza sobre todo por la fusión de fuertes influencias griegas con métodos de expresión egipcios tradicionales en arquitectura, y cambios en las convenciones pictóricas como la representación de la figura humana en estatuaria y escultura en relieve. |
