Note: Japanese culture, period, and style that developed from 552 to 645 CE, coinciding with the rise of Buddhism. In sculpture, figures of mostly deities appear in styles that range from an early use of flat planes, elongated proportions, and sharply contoured lines to later shift toward smaller, gentler, figures which emphasize verticality. In painting, the style is characterized by the use of red and black colors created by mixing lacquer with pigment, and yellow and green colors resulting from a mixture of lead oxide and vegetable oil. Painting from this period features light and graceful figures and landscape. In architecture, the style is characterized by the emphasis on symmetry and axial balance with the use of post and lintel construction, tile roofs, and elaborate bracketing to transmit weight and thrust.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 指發展於西元552年至645年的時代與風格，佛教也於同時代興起。在雕刻方面，大部分都是神像雕刻，早期是使用平板，人物比例瘦長，輪廓線條明顯，後期製作的神像則較小，人物形象較柔和，突顯垂直性。在繪畫方面，使用紅與黑兩種顏色，由瓷漆與顏料混合而成，另外使用黃與綠兩種顏色，由氧化鉛與植物油混合而成。輕盈優雅的人物與山水是此時期的繪畫特色。在建築方面，建築特色強調對稱與軸間平衡，使用柱子與門楣結構、瓦屋頂，以及精密支架來支撐重量。 |
| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de periode en stijl die zich ontwikkelde tussen 552 en 645 v. Chr. en samenviel met de opkomst van het boeddhisme. In de beeldhouwkunst zien we figuren, meestal van godheden, in stijlen die variëren van een vroeg gebruik van platte vlakken, verlengde proporties en scherpe lijnen tot latere kleinere, vriendelijker figuren met de nadruk op verticale lijnen. In de schilderkunst wordt deze stijl gekenmerkt door het gebruik van rode en zwarte kleuren die worden verkregen door lak met kleurstof te mengen, en gele en groene kleuren die worden verkregen uit een mengsel van loodoxide en plantaardige olie. Schilderwerk uit deze periode omvat vooral lichte en elegante figuren en landschappen. In de bouwkunst wordt deze stijl gekenmerkt door de nadruk op symmetrie en axiale balans door het gebruik van paal- en latconstructies, daken met dakpannen en kraagstukken om gewicht en horizontale druk te verdelen. |
| Spanish ..... Refierese al período y al estilo que se desarrolla a partir 552 a 645 aC., coincidiendo con la subida de Budismo. En escultura, las figuras sobre todo de deidades aparecen en un estilos, de un uso temprano de diversos planos, de proporciones alargadas, y de líneas agudamente contorneadas a una más pequeña, más apacible, estas figuras acentúan la verticalidad. En la pintura, el estilo es caracterizado por el uso de los colores rojos y negros creados mezclando la laca con el pigmento, y los colores del amarillo y del verde resultando de una mezcla del óxido del plomo y del aceite vegetal. La pintura a partir de este período ofrece figuras y paisaje ligeros y agraciados. En arquitectura, el estilo es caracterizado por el énfasis en simetría y equilibrio axial con el uso de la construcción del poste y del dintel, azoteas de azulejos, y diversas elaboraciones para transmitir el peso y el empuje. |
