Note: Type of porcelain material comprising white china clay and powdered glass, which is substituted for the feldspathic rock used in hard paste porcelain. It is "soft fired" at the relatively low temperature of around 1200 degrees centigrade. After firing, it is characterized by being able to be cut with a file in unglazed areas, and having a translucency that is variable in intensity and color.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een porseleinsoort die is gemaakt van witte porseleinklei en gepoederd glas, dat de veldspaathoudende steen van 'hard porselein' vervangt. Het wordt zacht gebakken op de relatief lage temperatuur van ongeveer 1200 graden Celsius. Kenmerkend is dat de niet geglaceerde gebieden in gebakken toestand kunnen worden gesneden met een vijl en dat het een doorschijnendheid heeft die varieert in intensiteit en kleur. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere a un tipo de porcelana hecha de arcilla blanca de China y de vidrio pulverizado, que se sustituye a la roca feldespática utilizada en la porcelana de pasta dura. Ha tenido cocción suave a temperaturas relativamente bajas en torno a 1200deg C. Después de la cocción, se caracteriza por ser posible de cortar con una lima en las zonas no enlucidas, y por presentar un carácter translúcido que varía en intensidad y color. |
