Note: Refers to a process of creating colors by using mixtures of colored light. Such color from light is perceived in the eye due to emission rather than by reflection, which is the method by which color in pigment is perceived in a subtractive mixture. An additive color system refers to light emitted from a source, typically comprising the additive primaries of red, green, and blue light, which are used to produce the other colors, as laid out in the RGB color model. Combining one of these additive primary colors with equal amounts of another primary creates the additive secondary colors of cyan, magenta, and yellow. The luminosity of each color may be varied to create the full gamut of colors. Combining all three primary additive colors in equal intensities produces white light.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een procedé voor het creëren van kleuren op basis van gekleurd licht in een bepaalde mengverhouding. Dat een dergelijke uit een lichtbron ontstane kleur door het oog wordt waargenomen, is het gevolg van emissie en niet van reflectie, de methode waarbij de waarneming van de kleuren in het pigment het resultaat is van subtractieve kleurenmenging. Een additief kleurensysteem verwijst naar licht dat door een bron wordt uitgestraald en omvat meestal de additieve primaire lichtkleuren rood, groen en blauw, waarmee de andere kleuren worden gemaakt, overeenkomstig het RGB-kleurenmodel. Het combineren van een van deze additieve primaire kleuren met gelijke hoeveelheden van een andere primaire kleur geeft de additieve secundaire kleuren cyaan, magenta en geel. Door het variëren van de luminescentie van iedere kleur kan een volledig kleurenspectrum worden opgebouwd. Het combineren van alle drie de primaire additieve kleuren met gelijke intensiteit resulteert in wit licht. |
