Graciana Silva Garcia, nicknamed "La Negra" because of her African origins, is an iconic figure in the world of the centuries-old son jarocho musical tradition.
Singing and playing a thirty-eight-string harp, she integrates Spanish melodies, African rhythmic patterns, and indigenous narratives.
Doña Graciana will share the stage with master requinto player Zeferino Romero Mojica and his daughter, Iris Romero Arriaga, on jarana.
