Enjoy music and evening views of the city, tour the galleries, and revel in the end of the workweek in a casual and spontaneous atmosphere at our monthly Fridays Off the 405 series, a musical happening curated by culture magazine Flavorpill.

The galleries will be open as well so you can catch the avant-garde Japanese art in Art, Anti-Art, Non-Art: Experimentations in the Public Sphere in Postwar Japan, 1950–1970, the photographs of L.A. in A Place in the Sun: Photographs of Los Angeles by John Humble, and the rest of our spring exhibition lineup.

April 13, 2007: Peanut Butter Wolf and Honeycut
Peanut Butter Wolf is a left coast hip-hop legend, superstar producer, master turntablist, and head of Stones Throw Records, known as "L.A.'s pre-eminent indie hip-hop label, an aesthetic beacon of national stature, and a model for anyone who might dream of handcrafting a record label" (L.A. Weekly). He serves up a flowing mix of funk and hip-hop along with pop, experimental jazz, electronica, and whatever else his wide-ranging musical imagination dreams up.

Opening the evening is Honeycut, three San Franciscans who craft an incredibly hip, totally accessible soul-infused indie funk with atmospheric vocals and high-energy synth. Hear for yourself why they've been called "the Bay area's own answer to Gnarls Barkley" (sfist.com).
