Celebrate the arts and cultures of the ancient Mediterranean at this day of family fun. Discover Tunisian music, thrill to folk tales from the eastern Mediterranean, and make a mosaic inspired by the current exhibition Stories in Stone: Conserving Mosaics of Roman Africa; Masterpieces from the National Museums of Tunisia.

An advance, timed ticket is required for each individual. Tickets are sold out.

Tunisian Folk Music with MC Rai
Tunisian-born singer and songwriter MC Rai has been immersed since his youth in the folk music traditions of chaabi, or mizoued, as it is known in Tunisia. He performs the music of his homeland accompanied by Omar Fadel and Avram Sills.

Italian Folk Music with Musicàntica
Back by popular demand, the brilliant and fun-loving duo of Roberto Catalano and Enzo Fina perform music from Italy's oral tradition with an emphasis on songs created by untrained Italian musicians. See and hear native Italian instruments including the tamburello (a frame drum), the chitarra battente (a ten-string guitar of Renaissance design), and benas (Sardinian single- and double-cane clarinets).

Alidz Agbabian performs "The Magic Story Boat"
Sail the Magic Story Boat as you listen to the myths of Neptune and Adonis & Aphrodite from master storyteller Alidz Agbabian. Percussionist Mher Vahakn provides Arabic folk songs and rhythmic chants for this exciting journey along the ancient roads toward Rome.

We Tell Stories performs "The Truth about Medusa"
You've never seen Medusa like this! The classical myth of the heroic young Perseus and his quest for the head of the snaky-haired gorgon comes to life complete with wicked kings, monsters, magical gifts, and plenty of audience participation. Performed in a fun-filled, improvisational style by multi-ethnic touring children's theater company We Tell Stories, "The Truth About Medusa" is a madcap mythological adventure for the entire family.
