German music, dance, and stories take center stage in this day of free family fun inspired by the exhibition From Caspar David Friedrich to Gerhard Richter: German Paintings from Dresden.

German Pop and Electronic Music: A Tour with DJ Cathy Lara
Explore 45 years of German music history as DJ Cathy Lara spins German pop and electronic music popular in Berlin today, as well as Schlager classics and German pop.

The Bluebirds and G.T.E.V. D'Oberlandler
Waltz and polka along with the Bluebirds, who blend the sounds of Blasmusik and Egerlander Musik with traditional polkas and waltzes from Bavaria, and dancers from G.T.E.V. D'Oberlandler, who perform traditional Bavarian and Austrian Schuhplattlern ("shoe-slapping") and figure dances in traditional costumes.

Conjunto Los Pochos with Folk Dancers
Enjoy the infectious enthusiasm of L.A.-based Los Pochos, masters of norteño music from northern Mexico and southern Texas. Norteño came into being in the 1800s, when German and Czech immigrants introduced the accordion and European folk dances to the Mexican population.

Jim Gamble Marionettes
Join the skilled puppeteers of the Gamble Puppet Company as they perform "Hansel and Gretel," the classic fairy tale of the well-loved brother and sister and their walk in the woods.

Join master storyteller Michael Katz in an exploration of classic Grimm's fairy tales. Hang on for the rollicking heroic journey of Rumpletstiltskin, grab a bit of Rapunzel's hair, and dive in to other classic stories filled with surprises.
