Get creative with your kids in Art Odyssey, a gallery program for families that combines a tour, an art lesson, and lots of family teamwork. The program is geared for families with children ages five and up. También ofrecida en español.
How to Participate
Sign up at the Tour Meeting Place outside the Auditorium beginning at 1:45 p.m. on the day of the event. A professional gallery teacher will lead you and a small group of other families into the galleries to explore a group of artworks on a specific theme. You might learn about a day in the life of a hero, a conservator, or a scary hybrid creature, or go on an odyssey with Hercules (the Greek Herakles), Achilles, or Alexander the Great. Then you'll use what you see as inspiration for fun, hands-on activities such as art, writing, or drama projects.
After your Art Odyssey, your gallery teacher will suggest other family-friendly works of art in the collection that you can visit to practice your new skills at looking at art.
