Help the GRI Learn More about How Scholars Use Social Media
The GRI has begun a research project to understand how scholars utilize social media platforms in relation to their studies. The goal is to learn how the GRI can best provide the resources and tools for scholars to conduct research and discover new collections, both at the GRI and at other institutions.
The survey takes approximately four minutes, and as a thank you for completing the survey, five participants will be randomly selected to receive a GRI publication.
Take the survey.

Steven Leiber Archive
Pioneering art dealer and collector Steven Leiber helped popularize the concept that ephemera and documentation in itself was integral to the conceptual and avant-garde art movements. Leiber's archive, which comprises more than 2,600 files, including invitations, posters, correspondence, and rare material often collected directly from artists, deepens the GRI's holdings on the work of artists working in the wake of Fluxus and conceptual art.

Kathleen Curran
American art museums share a mission and format that differ from those of their European counterparts, which often have origins in aristocratic collections. This groundbreaking work recounts the fascinating story of the invention of the modern American art museum, starting with its roots in the 1870s in the craft museum type, which was based on London's South Kensington (now the Victoria and Albert) Museum.
