Yvonne Rainer: Dances and Films
Through October 12, 2014 | The Getty Center
Dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker Yvonne Rainer is one of the most influential artistic figures of the last 50 years.
Yvonne Rainer: Dances and Films includes an array of photographs, scores, journals, and posters, as well as a complete retrospective of Rainer's films. Rainer's early works often eschewed theatricality and emotionalism; later works, such as the film
Privilege (1990), are increasingly personal and political.

PUBLICATION
The Colors of the New World
Diana Magaloni Kerpel
The Florentine Codex is the single most important artistic and historical document for studying the peoples and cultures of pre-Hispanic and colonial Central Mexico, reflecting both indigenous and Spanish traditions of writing and painting.
The Colors of the New World reveals the complex meanings inherent in the selection of the pigments used in the manuscript and offers a fascinating look into a previously hidden symbolic language.
