Adventures of Dolly, ch. 4 / Manalese

The Art & Language Arts program helps teachers from Los Angeles elementary schools develop art-centered, interdisciplinary teaching strategies based on the J. Paul Getty Museum's collections.

This free professional development program offers meaningful and engaging strategies for developing students' language and visual arts skills. The program supports the California Content Standards for English—language arts and visual arts.

Art & Language Arts is designed to sustain teachers' professional growth over a one-year period. By the end of the year participants will have produced model units and/or teaching strategies, tested them in their classrooms, and reported the results to the larger professional community.

Art & Language Arts is structured to be collaborative in nature, so that teachers work in teams, exchange information, and share their expertise with one another and the Museum's staff.
