The GCI, in collaboration with project partner El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, is working on two fronts to complete this project. The project components are:

• The design and construction of a protective structure to cover the mural and a viewing platform to make it accessible to visitors;
  
  
• The final conservation of the mural.
  
  
• In addition, the city of Los Angeles has assumed the responsibility for the interpretation of the mural for the public. This will be accomplished through an interpretive center in the Sepulveda House.
