Ishmael (Abrahamic religion character) | ||
Note: Character from the Book of Genesis, the Tanakh and the Quran. Child of Abraham by Hagar, the handmaid of Abraham's wife, Sarah. Sarah was barren and had given Hagar to Abraham in order for him to have a son. But when Sarah later had a son, Isaac, Hagar and Ishmael were banished. Ishmael went on to have 12 sons who were chieftans of the region. Ishmael was the ancestor of the Ishmaelites and patriarch of Qaydār. | |
