Savitā (Hindu deity)

Note: Hindu beneficent protector god, he is an agent of all that is mobile and is stationary, upholding the movables and immovable. He is golden armed, beautiful-handed, and golden haired. Savitr disappeared as an independent deity from the Hindu pantheon after the end of the Vedic period. In the pantheon of Vedic Hinduism, son of Kaśyapa by his wife Aditi; one of the gods in the category of Adityas, sons of sovereign principles of the universe.
