| Seven Days Battle (American Civil War battle, 1862) | |
Note: The Seven Days Battle was one of the more savage battles of the Civil war, with the Union Army attempting to capture the city of Richmond, Virginia. But the Army of Northern Virginia, under the command of newly appointed General Robert E. Lee, would mount offensive combat at Beaver Dam Creek, Gaines’ Mill, Savage Station (Henrico County), Glendale, and Malvern Hill. This led Union General George McClellan to force the evacuation of the Union army from the region. Lee's victory in the Seven Days extended the Civil War by another 3 years. | |
