Chinese Civil War (Chinese history, 1927-1949)

Note: Extended civil and ideological war fought between forces loyal to the Communist Party of China, and nationalist forces loyal to the Republic of China, Chiang Kai-Shek, and the Kuomintang. It culminated with the creation of the People's Republic of China in 1949, though fighting continued afterward.
