Dagon (ancient Semitic deity)

Note: Ancient Semitic crop fertility god. Worshipped by early Amorites and inhabitants of Ebla and Ugarit, syria; also part of the Philistine pantheon. Legendary inventor of the plow. In some traditions, father of the god Baal. In some traditions, a fish from the waist down. His cult is attested as early as about 2500 BCE.
