	Massacre of the Innocents (New Testament narrative)

Note: Narrative of the infanticide ordered by Herod the Great, to eliminate all young male children in the vicinity of Bethlehem, fearing a rival to his throne in a newborn King of the Jews whose birth had been announced to him by the Magi. Joseph had taken the infant Jesus and Mary away, in the "Flight to Egypt."
